Gua Sha
A traditional instrument-assisted technique, considered in the context of your individual care.

About this service
Gua sha uses a handheld tool moved across the skin in repeated strokes. At Restore, Marta Tinkey can discuss this technique during your acupuncture consultation and explain whether it may be appropriate for your concerns.
What to expect
Your provider reviews the area to be treated, describes the technique and checks your comfort as the tool is applied. Gua sha can produce temporary red or purple skin marks. You will have an opportunity to ask about the expected response and aftercare.
Your questions, answered
Is gua sha the same as acupuncture?
No. Acupuncture uses fine needles, while gua sha uses a tool applied to the surface of the skin. Marta can explain the differences and help you understand the options available within your care plan.
